While we are pleased that the
UK government has stated that churches can open for private prayer from the 15th
of June 2020, we still have to work on the details
of the guidelines/risk assessments needed with the Diocese to make sure
churches are safe to open. Once these have been completed, the Diocese
will know which Churches can open.
We will keep everyone up to date when there is news of what our Church
is able to offer.
Getting ready to open again is not a
quick and simple process but we are working on the guidelines and we hope to be
able to offer some small ways of opening the church safely in the near future,
with everyone’s health in the forefront of all decisions.
Keep checking the website for any
updated information.
Whilst we are still unable to receive
the Eucharist due to the coronavirus pandemic, remember the spiritual communion prayer that can be said from home.
“My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar. I love
You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot
at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my
heart ... I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to
You. Never permit me to be separated from You,”
