Lent: Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving

Lent begins next Wednesday, 14 February, and is a time when we’re all called to make a special effort to nourish our spiritual lives.

The traditional pillars of Lent are prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, and these three paths work together to help us ground ourselves in the love of Christ and share that love with our neighbour.

The Department of Adult Education & Evangelisation has produced a poster, which you are free to put up in your Church, to help parishioners consider how they might use these pillars to grow closer to Jesus Christ this Lent.

The Department will also be sharing reminders and ideas on our social media pages, all of which you can find through our LinkTree page, through Lent to accompany our parishioners during this liturgical season.
