Our Lady of Lourdes & St Bernadette
In 1937, at the request of Bishop Lee, the OMI provincial sent two priests, Fr Treacy and Fr Allen to Kingswood to minister to a new Parish.  They first took rented accommodation but later moved into the large property of the Woodlands, which became the first Presbytery and Mass centre for the Parish.  Public mass was first celebrated on 20th November 1937 with the congregation and Priest in one large room and others occupying a second room across the hall.  On 28th November 2937 the Bishop inaugurated the new Parish.  St Joseph's supplied the priests with 130 addresses of known Catholics in Kingswood.  Building work on a temporary church was completed on 11th September 1938.

The Parish has had a long and varied history.  From 1937 until the late 1980's the Parish was under the responsibility of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate and since 1989 the Parish has been the responsibility of the Diocesan Priesthood.

In September 2010, we joined St Augustine's, Downend, St John Fisher, Frenchay, St Paul's, Yate, and St Lawrence, Chipping Sodbury to become Parishes in Communion for Mission, being served by Fr Frank Bermingham and Fr Jim Williams and Deacons Peter Hinchey, Michael Belt, John Scanlon and Vincent Calder.

We are currently (as of September 2022) served by Fr Jim Williams, Priest-in-Charge (resident at St Lawrence), Fr Barnabas Page, Assistant Priest (resident at St Augustines) and Deacons from our Parishes in Communion - Deacon Michael Belt and Deacon Vincent Calder.
